Nuffield Trust Support

NUFFIELD Trust for the Forces of the Crown has given a massive boost to The British Forces Foundation with a £25,000 grant.

The hugely generous award was made in support of the BFF's bid to purchase its very own sound system. The Charity wants to invest in specialist lightweight equipment to help it meet the growing demands for more shows in more inhospitable places around the world.

British Forces Foundation Director Mark Cann said: "With the calibre of stars who take part in our shows it is important that we have a top quality sound system. And given the nature of some of the venues and their remote locations it is vital that the equipment is robust and weighs as little as possible."

It is hoped that if more funding is secured from other sources then the sound system - costing some £75,000 in total - may see action in a very special concert in Kosovo later this year.

"We were quite taken aback at the generosity of Nuffield Trust for the Forces of the Crown," said Mr Cann. "It will the negate the need for the BFF to incur the costs of hiring the equipment and will, in the long run, save the Charity money. A huge thank you to the Nuffield Trustees for supporting our application."
