THE British Forces Foundation received a cash boost thanks to former Tewkesbury Borough Mayor Paul Ockelton.

In October he presented three cheques for £2,965 each to The BFF, Cancer Research UK and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. 

Coun Ockelton raised the money for the charities by holding events last year while he was Borough Mayor. These included a civic ball, a race day, the Tewkesbury Half Marathon and proceeds from Ron Chapman's climb of the Matterhorn.
