BFF Christmas panto tour success
December 15, 2015
The British Forces Foundation’s Christmas pantomime tour for our amazing Armed Services families has entertained thousands young and old across the UK.
The three-week run, in partnership with The Panto Bus, saw some 34 performances at no fewer than 24 venues – from the top of Scotland to the bottom of Cornwall.
Productions of both Cinderella and Dick Whittington toured simultaneously, with families of Army, Navy and RAF personnel all enjoying the shows for free as part of The BFF’s morale-boosting work for our fantastic Armed Forces.
The charity has received many heart-felt messages of thanks for the pantos, the sentiments of which are captured in a letter from RAF Lossiemouth Station Commander Gp Cpt Michael Chappell who wrote: “It was an absolute delight to spend one of my final evenings as Station Commander RAF Lossiemouth hosting the Panto Bus performance of Dick Whittington kindly funded by The British Forces Foundation.
“Playing to a packed hall with over 100 children and many more adults still young at heart, the cast put on an amazing show which was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. “RAF Lossiemouth has many personnel currently deployed in support of operations around the world and, within our audience, we had significant numbers of children whose parents are serving overseas.
“The operational commitment and our remote geographical location within the UK means that any opportunity for the community to come together and support each other is seized upon and this was clear by the ;arge numbers who turned up on a very wet and windy night.”
