British Forces Foundation Trustee Katherine Jenkins has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's New Year Honours list in recognition of her work with the Charity.
Katherine, who travelled with The BFF to Afghanistan to entertain troops towards the end of last year, tweeted: "Honoured. Overwhelmed. Humbled. Inspired to do more. Sharing this w/ our brave service men &women worldwide."
A source from the palace revealed that the Queen was delighted to be presenting the 33-year old with the royal accolade, telling the Mail Online: "Ms Jenkins has been a fine ambassador for the arts, good causes, our troops and the nation. This is a thoroughly well-deserved honour – Her Majesty is delighted to bestow."
