More than 250 guests (including some 150 injured servicemen and women) gathered for the Style for Soldiers Christmas party.
Among them were Generals Mark Carlton-Smith, George Norton and Sir Richard Shirreff as well as leading figures in the fashion business including Telegraph Fashion Editor Lisa Armstrong, GQ's Bill Prince and Conde Nast Publisher Jamie Bill.
The evening was funded by Mr Porter while the spectacular venue, Purple Door, was provided by The Crown Estate.
Emma Willis, the founder and driving force behind Style for Soldiers, said: "We are so grateful for all the thank you emails and letters we have received from servicemen and also medical staff and COs who have all mentioned that it served as a greatly appreciated reunion.
"One Commanding Officer was moved to tears to see one of his platoon and said it inspired him to make sure that they make an effort to keep in touch with their injured in the future."
Emma had met the injured personnel during her frequent visits to Headley Court Military Rehabilitation Centre measuring for shirts and walking sticks since 2008.
