Team BFF runner record attempt

4th February 2015

Back to News

Team BFF runner Dan Jones is aiming to break a Guinness World Record when he runs this year's London Marathon wearing military boots and an army bergen weighing 60lb.

Dan, 35, who served in the army in the mid-1990s as a Grenadier Guard, has been training for the attempt since November.

The current World Record for the fastest marathon run while carrying a 60lb pack is held by Toru Sakurai, a Japanese army instructor who completed the run in four hours, 39 minutes and nine seconds during the Tokyo Marathon in 2013.

Dan will have that time firmly in his sights when he lines up for the London Marathon on Sunday, April 26. To sponsor him visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/danjones35.
