The importance of decompression

21st October 2010

Back to Blog

I see Combat Stress is in the news talking about the long-term psychological effects of the war in Afghanistan. I hope during the debate it won't be forgotten that prevention is better than cure. That's why The British Forces Foundation has long championed the decompression camp in Cyprus and the importance of some of our decompression shows back in the UK - and very much the shows we do out in operational theatres.

It is very difficult to measure the evidence of the effect we have, but it is well known good morale and opportunities for troops to let their hair down are significant releases of tension.
