100 Mile Cycle Challenge

25th July 2013

Back to News

BFF Director Mark Cann has been duped into taking part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 to raise money for the Charity next month. His aim is to do 100 miles on the Olympic cycling course in under eight hours.

He is being spurred on by a whole host of BFF supporters including Katherine Jenkins and Katie Melua who wrote: "Best of Luck Mark!! How fantastic to be raising funds for the BFF, still think back in amazement at our Afgan trip. Hope your 'ache' after the cycle ain't too bad."

Mark wants to raise £10,000.  "I know this is a personal thing as much as a public one and everyone is fed up with endless sponsored challenges but that is not why I want you to sponsor me. This is either revenge or payback – and there are four levels of sponsorship I am proposing."

Bronze - £25+  You are a Bronze sponsor because  you have always found him irritating or worse but concede he may have done you a minor favour at some stage and so you reluctantly give this sponsorship on the understanding he will never contact you again or ask for any sponsorship again.

Silver - £50+ even though you don't like him you concede he may have done you a favour worthy of support in return.

Gold - £10 - £500. You have always liked him and happily support such a noble endeavour.

Platinum £500 - £1000. Whether you like him or not is irrelevant but you know he either has the pictures and compromising stories ready to
hit the internet or knows you are absolutely minted and will think less of you for giving the petty amount expected of people on his kind of salary! Or both.

To sponsor Mark on-line please visit www.justgiving.com/Mark-Cann

Mark will be joined on the ride by 12 other Team BFF members – Richard Cook, Nick Cordel, Andrew Dunn, John Evans, Tom Everard, Andrew Fleming, Alex Hawes, Rory O’Neill, Frances Naumann, Steph Oerton, Gerald Slora and Willy Warden. Good luck!
