BFF Auction Night
November 20, 2008
SUPPORTERS of The British Forces Foundation helped to raise almost £25,000 – the cost of a spectacular show for troops in Afghanistan – at the Charity’s annual Auction Night Dinner on Thursday 20th November.
Generous bidders in both the Loud and Silent Auctions guaranteed the success of the evening, and the raffle alone raised in excess of £2,000.
Guest speaker on the night was John Peters who spoke passionately about his experiences at the hands of his Iraqi captors in the Gulf War and why the work of The BFF is so important to troops on the frontlines today.
The event, held at the Cavalry & Guards Club in Piccadilly, was sponsored by the drinks giant Diageo, and it provided an opportunity to thank other major sponsors like BAE Systems, British Airways and BMW Park Lane.
The night was made even more special for long-time charity supporter Steve Norris who was appointed an official Ambassador for the Charity in recognition of his fund-raising efforts over many years.
