BFF family fun
March 16, 2020
Aladdin magicked up some February half-term fun for forces families courtesy of the BFF Panto Bus.
The 13-date tour wound its way across the south of England visiting the likes of RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall, Army HQ in Hampshire and RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.
“Thorney Island would like to say a massive thank you to The British Forces Foundation for entertaining the parents and children with the Aladdin pantomime show,” wrote Dawn Caraher, Thorney Island Station Welfare. “The BFF should be congratulated for the effort which had clearly gone in to organising and performing on the day. The cast were brilliant and very accommodating.”
Narva Davidson of 21st Signal Regiment said: “As an isolated and highly deployed unit, this opportunity to have the panto bus visit us was a huge morale booster. We had over 100 people enjoy an afternoon of traditional entertainment which brought families together and allowed parents to relax. We would very much welcome the panto bus back to Colerne to provide a valuable source of family interaction.”
And Meg Wickett, Community Development Officer at RAF Benson, added: “The pantomime was once again great this year. We had a lot of families attend who had a spouse deployed so the show was very welcome.”
The February tour was made possible thanks to our generous supporters – in particular valuable grants from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the Army Central Fund and the Veterans’ Foundation.
