The British Forces Foundation have been crowned England Footballers Foundation champions after lifting the EFF Charity Cup.

In a bruising final The BFF defeated reigning champs Link Brokers by a single goal, courtesy of a fabulous free kick which flew into the top right hand corner in the last minute of normal time.

The BFF team, which included a strong contingent from The 3rd Yorkshire Regiment recently back from Afghanistan, had topped their qualifying group on goal difference.

Led by their football legend manager, West Ham's Tony Gale, they marched their way through to the final with hard fought and well deserved victories in the quarter and semi finals.

Some 16 teams had lined up at the start of the evening at the London Soccerdome for the EFF fundraising competition presented by 1966. Among the guests watching the action were footballing legends past and present including England International Jermaine Defoe.

The event helped to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK and the EFF's very own Outreach Programme which works with disadvantaged youngsters in deprived areas across the country.

The BFF would like to thank EFF, 1966, the London Soccerdome and all the players and supporters who turned out for the new EFF Charity Cup champions!
