30th April 2009
Some 18 teams battled it out for the first ever BFF Golf Challenge Trophy to be held at the Royal Automobile Club's beautiful Woodcote Park course in Epsom.
And it was the home-grown team who took the honours and were presented with the coveted cup during a very special evening dinner after the competition.
Among the guests of honour were former Formula One racing driver Mark Blundell and Falklands veteran Simon Weston OBE who spoke warmly about the work of The British Forces Foundation. The after-dinner speaker was General Sir Mike Jackson GCB CBE DSO who served as Chief of the General Staff (CGS) from 2003 to 2006, after a highly distinguished career in the British Army spanning more than four decades.
There was music from the Army Air Corps Quartet, champagne reception, a raffle and both loud and silent auctions - and the evening event raised in exces of £10,000 for the Charity.
The British Forces Foundation would like to thank Mr Darius Sarosh of the Erach & Roshan Sadri Foundation for his help and support with the event.
