Cotswold Team Chase

25th October 2009

The BFF team stormed around the Intermediate Course at this year’s Cotswold Team Chase held in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside.

The Charity’s own Ben Vestey joined by his wife Chloe, sister Tamara and fellow ex-Household Cavalry officer Tim Eastwood, formed a military/family team that managed a very respectable 12th out of 46 in this equestrian race against the clock over challenging natural obstacles.

The BFF was the official charity for the event and, thanks to the generosity of the Committee and spectators, more than £2,000 was raised from the day.

In true BFF morale-boosting tradition, all serving personnel had free entry to the event and enjoyed a complimentary hog roast and pint – the latter kindly donated by The Wheatsheaf Pub in Northleach (

To round off a memorable day of competition, The RAF team won the coveted Loriners Cup for fastest military team.

The British Forces Foundation would like to say a huge thank you to The Cotswold Hunt for choosing the Charity as the official beneficiary of this year’s Team Chase.

"Although big name stars offer their time and talent without charge to boost the morale of our Armed Forces, The BFF’s principle shows in Afghanistan are only possible due to the crucial fund-raising support from events like this," said Ben Vestey. "Our thanks again for such a fantastic day.”
