THE British Forces Foundations' inaugural Quiz Challenge proved to be a very popular and successful event – paving the way for more brain-testing evenings over many years to come.

Some nine teams battled it out for honours over a three-course meal at the Cavalry & Guards Club in Piccadilly.

Ten rounds of questions, with audio and visual clips, had the teams searching the furthest recesses of their minds. There was even a whiskey tasting round, thanks to Diageo, which was very well received during the coffee break.

In fact it was a close run contest throughout the evening, but there could be only one winner – and that was BAE Systems.

To the victors, the spoils – the team captain received a Mont Blanc pen (courtesy of Mont Blanc), and all members were presented with goodie bags generously donated by Hackett and by Jo Malone. And, of course, BAE Systems lifted the coveted BFF Quiz Challenge trophy.

There were prizes too for the second and third placed teams (ING Real Estate and Hackett) thanks to Ralph Lauren, while the hotly contested 'wooden spoon' – in the shape of eight sought-after BFF mugs – went to the Blue Bespoke team.

There was a silent auction, two unique loud auction lots kindly donated by Lt Col Ralph Griifin, and a raffle which all helped to raise approximately £5,000 for the Charity.

Mark Cann, BFF Director and quiz master for the evening, thanked all those companies and indiviudals who supported the event. They included Barbour, Diageo, Fortnum & Mason, Hackett, Jo Malone, Joseph, Mont Blanc and Ralph Lauren.
