Comedian John Bishop visited staff and patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with The British Forces Foundation.
His morale-boosting visit proved hugely popular with all those he met during his tour of the wards.
"Clearly, John was very happy to be there among people whom he has a great deal of respect and time for," said BFF Chief Executive Mark Cann.
"He is a great supporter of the Forces, and in the hospital environment was his very engaging, humorous but self-depracating self."
