London Marathon 2008

13th April 2008

Back to News

THE British Forces Foundation’s team of intrepid runners all completed the 2008 London Marathon – and one man's heroics even found their way into the Guinness Book of Records.

The competitors were Stella Burton, Wayne Corbishley-Forbes, Allan Cox, Christopher John, Philip Major, Emma Marshall, Lesley Mercer, Roger Merry, Myles Morson and Ashley Morton-Hunte.

They all stayed the course with finishing times ranging from 4hr 02m for Christopher John through to just under the five and three-quarter hour mark.

However, it was Myles Morson who completed two feats in one, when he was recognised as running the world's fastest ever marathon in full military uniform.

Each of the runners pledged to raise £1,250 for The British Forces Foundation, and the Charity is extremely grateful and very proud of all their efforts.
