Shirts for Soldiers, set up to make bespoke shirts for injured servicemen recovering at Headley Court, now comes under the auspices of The British Forces Foundation.
Top shirt maker Emma Willis began the service in 2008 as a token of gratitude for the troops' courage and sacrifice.
Emma explained: "This has worked well, and the letters, emails and texts I have received from them have been humbling in their appreciation and their exemplary manners.
"Several of the soldiers had not had a formal shirt before, and showed great style in unanimously choosing double cuffs."
Emma, GQ's shirt Style Shrink, began visiting Headley Court every couple of months to create comfortable shirts specifically made for the injured troops. The visits, costing approximately £2,000 a time, were generously funded by customers of the Emma Willis shop in Jermyn Street, London.
To enable this valuable and morale-boosting work to continue for as long as it is needed, Emma sought the help of The British Forces Foundation.
The Charity is delighted to support Shirts for Soldiers and will be helping to ensure that funds are in place so that as many servicemen as possible at Headley Court will receive a bespoke shirt.
