Team BFF and the TCS London Marathon

6th October 2022

Back to News

It may have been a depleted Team BFF at the TCS London Marathon start line but the results were anything but.

Injury and other dramas meant only four of the original 11 runners made it to the race itself. However, it was best foot forward for Simon Andree, Laurence Hegarty, Tom Whistlecroft and James Yates as they took on the gruelling challenge.

And, undeterred by her car breaking down and the train strike leaving her unable to get to London, Jessica Small refused to give up and did the Virtual London Marathon instead.

Between them Team BFF raised an impressive £6,000 plus for the Charity.

The experience was certainly not one to forget. Simon (pictured) said: “I had an amazing time and the support and experience will be remembered for a long time.

"It was an honour to run for the British Forces Foundation and I hope the money raised will make a small difference to supporting our Armed Forces."

And Risedale SchoolDeputy Headteacher, James, said:  "The atmosphere was amazing, what an incredible day!"
