Wes powers on with BFF support

Wes McGuinness has been powering his way to more success with a little help from the British Forces Foundation.

This year, he was able to represent the Royal Navy and Team Great Britain on two international stages.

"Only last week, I was able to represent Team England at my fifth international Powerlifting Federation Commonwealth championships held in Winnipeg, Canada, where I was able to secure a bronze medal," said Wes. "The support of the BFF is invaluable.

"These experiences and perspectives are brought home with me and used at the Active Kids UK,  Royal Navy grassroots and adaptive grassroots festivals to encourage, inspire, and motivate future generation athletes to start their journey."

At the start of the year Wes competed in the national championships, where he was able to secure a podium finish resulting in international invitations to world and European championship events.
